R2

The R2 guitar model was first introduced by Dunable Guitars in 2014, inspired by the era of leather and denim, walls of triple-stacked 4x12s, and leaded gas. Over the past decade, it has become a favorite to many, and despite its obvious heavy metal aesthetic, it is one of the most comfortable electric guitars in the world. The retro-futuristic body shape incorporates strategic arm and torso contours, making for a perfectly molded instrument that has become a player favorite.

After ten years and over a thousand R2 guitars produced, Dunable has decided to update the classic model based on player feedback and their ever-developing perspective on guitar design. The R2 v2 comes with small improvements, including setting the neck almost an inch further into the body to make a more compact instrument and eliminate issues with neck dive. Although the original models did not have this problem, Dunable noticed that when using certain lightweight body woods on custom builds, neck dive could occur if a non-lightweight tuning key was used. The left side strap button has been moved to the rear of the body, which was a frequently requested modification, and helps the guitar hang off the body more neatly. Additionally, to make the higher register playing even more comfortable, we've added a nice heel contour where the neck meets the body, providing an even more effortless feel when moving up and down the fretboard.

The Dunable R2 v2 is available now as a "Standard" which features the body contours we know and love, as well as the new "FT" flat-top version, which has a thinner body and bound top edge.

Updates on R2 v2 include:

- neck pocket moved .75" into the body, to make for better balance against neck dive, and a shorter instrument overall

- strap button moved to back of neck to improve balance

- updated pickguard shape
